This Fisher 800-T is one of the coolest pieces of gear I’ve had the pleasure of working on yet! The power supply board and tuner IF/MPX board have been completely recapped. All inputs including phono, aux, am, and fm have been tested throughly. Even the presets and autoscan feature work perfectly!
Aside from the beautiful design and high quality build, the receiver really shines with its sound. This is from the era when things were transitioning from tube to solid state and the fullness, warmth and richness of the sound are tough to beat. I’ve been demoing it in my store since the work was complete and haven’t had any issues, nor do I expect to.
All of the controls have been thoroughly cleaned and all buttons, switches and knobs function with no noise or static and turn quite smoothly.
The only defect I can notice is the antenna mount was broken at som point and it has been velcroed on. It is secure and doesn’t look bad, and this unit really shines with an external antenna anyways.
I take pride in my work and stand behind the receivers I service. If you have any issues within 30 days (not caused by misuse) I’ll be happy to repair and return the unit (as long as your cover shipping)
You don’t see these come along very often, especially not in this condition. A dream for a vintage hifi collector.
